LISW
Welcome to Full Heart Family Therapy. I'm Michelle, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in both Iowa and California. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work, specializing in adult mental health and wellness, from the University of Southern California.
I have had the privilege of working with a diverse array of individuals, couples, and families in various settings, including hospitals, homeless shelters, partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient care. Throughout my career, I've supported clients struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other co-occurring disorders.
I am trained in several evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Intuitive Eating, Trauma-Informed Care, Gottman Method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Crisis Intervention.
My approach to therapy is centered on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard, supported, and accepted for who they are. I am committed to working collaboratively with each individual, tailoring therapeutic strategies to meet their unique needs. My goal is to empower clients to overcome challenges, develop resilience, and lead more fulfilling lives. Whether you're seeking support for mental health issues, navigating life transitions, or looking for a therapeutic partner to guide you on your healing journey, I am here to help you every step of the way.
