Hallie Evans, t-LMHC
Hi there! My name is Hallie Evans, and I’m a temporary licensed mental health counselor. I work with children and adolescents ages 5–17, helping them navigate life’s challenges and grow in self-understanding and resilience.
I completed my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand View University in 2024. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health from Iowa State University in 2021 (go Cyclones!).
I have experience working with both neurotypical and neurodivergent children and teens. I am passionate about supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, anger management difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and trauma-related issues.
As a therapist, I use a client-centered approach and believe it’s important for children and adolescents to have a sense of autonomy in the therapeutic process. I value collaboration and strive to work closely with caregivers while also honoring the child’s voice and perspective. I utilize evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy modalities, sand tray therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
With a background in kinesiology, I also have a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection. Movement and physical activity play a powerful role in supporting both physical and emotional well-being, and I encourage this with clients.
I am also an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Through the AACC, I have completed trainings, including youth mental health coaching and Spiritual and Mental Health First Aid. I offer faith-based counseling if desired.
As a therapist, I believe my role is to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them in their healing journey. My goal is not to “fix,” but to provide a safe and supportive space where children and teens feel heard, valued, and empowered to recognize their strengths and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active, cheering on the Cyclones, and competing as a novice powerlifter.
